30/03/2026: Limited morning hotspots

The Terra satellite which used to provide most of the mid-late morning hotspots will reach the end of its life soon and has now declined in performance so that fewer fires are being detected in the morning. It is hoped that hotspots from a new satellite that can detect morning fires will be available by mid-2026. For more information go to Morning Hostpots Issue
